Thick and powdery, in appearance and scent. A bitter-pungent cedar scent. Dark and woody, but not in a bad way. Lighting one of these and lying back puts me back in my childhood, helping my grandparents clean out their attic. The cedar scent is strong here, but softened enough by a fresh-wood smell that you don’t automatically think of cedar-balls used in laundry. So far, this is the closest scent I’ve found to an old cedar chest, hints of camphor (it smells like camphor…am I right, Adi?) making it even more authentic smelling. No wet scent is brought to mind, but it’s easy to imagine standing under a canopy of huge cedars after a rainstorm. This is beautiful, and I’m once again disappointed it took me years to decide to try Cedarwood. This is not a sweet stick at all, so don’t buy these expecting hints of sweetness like sandal and oud can sometimes have.
The stick is brown, thick, and powdery. These burn a little longer than the Cedarwood/Rose and Cedarwood/Sandal blends, and I don’t see as many sparkly crystals in the sticks as with some of the others. They’re certainly there; they catch the light in a beautiful way, adding a tiny glimmer to an already unique stick.

camphor has its place in all our incense, it helps the burn and adds freshness to the scent….coming soon is a pure Camphor incense!
